Traditions

It is important to have a holiday tradition that you share with your child every year. When you create your new family after the divorce, its even more important. In that way, your kids will look forward to that one special holiday thing they will always do with you in the future. It can be baking cookies while you watch a particular holiday movie, making a special holiday family rock video, going to see the boat parade. The making of a tradition helps them settle into the change of having the family in two separate homes.
