Dogs can help calm us down
When we are stressed and upset, dogs can help us calm down. My therapy dogs do that with patients in my office. When parents get upset, Jimmy stands in front of them with eyes half closed, breathing and putting his paw in their lap. I then point out that we can all learn from the signals dogs give us, when to regroup so we can try again when we are calmer.
