Being Connected

Another important way in which to increase your sense of self is by reaching out to those around you. It takes just a few moments to make a difference. It's the little comments to the Starbucks friend at the drive through, waving to the neighbor, thanking the gardener with a gift card or buying a surprise for the kid next door. When you make connections all around you, you feel more fulfilled in your life in general. Part of that connection is actually looking around outside. Noticing the change of seasons, the sunset, the moon…all things that are free and absolutely make you feel so appreciative of every moment you have on this planet. Sometimes the world is a much smaller place than you think, and the little things you do mean more than you imagined, both to you for making the effort and to the other person who benefits as well.
